The Importance of Branding in Small Business
As a small business owner, you are often competing with larger corporations and products sold on Amazon and in larger department stores. Because of all this competition, it’s so important to stand out amongst your competitors with strong branding and strategy.
But how do you do this?
A solid logo that can stand the test of time and communicate a meaningful story behind your business.
Show-stopping color palette and font choice that aligns with your target audience and makes consumers enjoy your product and scrolling your website.
Bomb ass branded photography.
A user-friendly website that converts visitors to customers seamlessly.
Killer social media graphics, organic and paid ads with scroll-stopping copywriting.
Aesthetically pleasing packaging experience targeted specifically to your dream customers.
And strategy, strategy, strategy!
All these things may or may not sound super overwhelming depending on where you are in your business. But the number one thing that I want you to take away from this list is that you do not have to tackle all of this alone. As small business owners, we often isolate ourselves and don’t realize what we are losing by not working with experts.
Just to list a few of the costs of not working with an expert: stress, consistency, overworking, burnout, stunted growth, missing higher revenue goals, not connecting with your audience, and missing out on moments.

Your time is more valuable than the money you’re going to spend.
When you invest in your business, you are investing in yourself and I promise you, your business will be better for it. You will see a shift in yourself and your mindset and that will cause a snowball effect of huge things you had no idea were even possible for yourself.
I’m so passionate about helping business owners realize their potential when they have more confidence and clarity in their business and ultimately, themselves. Having a framework for your branding and strategy is one of the first pieces of the puzzle that will start to create this clarity for yourself. Because in order to create this strategy you have to break down all the building blocks and get down to the nitty gritty of why you started your business, why someone should buy your products/services, who your products/services are for, the kind of values and personality you want to have as a business, and so much more!
Have you thought about all those questions that help you create such strong branding and strategy?
I believe most business owners don’t even realize that those types of granular questions are the most important questions to answer when you are cultivating your brand. The perfect color palette, font, and photographs don’t really mean anything without the strategy behind it. Without the strategy, how are you going to attract and convert people into paying customers/clients?
Most business owners have all these problems surrounding attracting clients and customers, consistency, etc. and all of these are just symptoms of a larger issue. Branding! And not knowing what to include in a brand strategy.
Branding is this buzzword that business owners tend to know they need but a lot of the time don’t actually know why or what it is or what it means. Most people assume it’s a logo and color palette, but branding is this all encompassing term for the strategy to market and sell your products/services, knowing your target market and why you are in business, and why people should want to buy from you.
It’s a guide for how you will always present your business in photography, ads, social media, websites, collaborations, and anything else your business associates with. Both visually and verbally. (That’s where copywriting comes in).
And it is also the design, color, and layout of your product label, website, service menu, and packaging. But those things would actually be more associated with brand identity.
